Our Research Study

SEND Project 

Our study aims to look at how children growing up in different enviroments affects brain development and cognition, as well as immune systems in children 7-10 years of age.

​By Understanding these connections, we hope to learn more about how early experiences affect thinking, memory, and well being.

Is my child eligible?

- Child is between 7-10 years old

- Caregiver can attend the visit

- No metal implants (for MRI safety)

- No braces

- No prior severe neurological conditions

Brain Scans

The study consists of:

Brain Scan:

- Your child will have pictures taken of their brain using a non-invasive MRI.

Blood Draw: 

- A small amount of blood will be drawn to measure immune activity. This is quick and done by a trained pediatric phlebotomist. We are not looking at DNA or genetics.

Questionnaires & Tasks:

- Your child will answer questions and complete short cognition games. Caregivers will answer questions about family background and child behaviors.

Time Commitment:

- The visit is expected to last 2.5-3 hours.

Compensation

$135

Paid after completion.
