ABOUT US
Our lab actively recruits participants within the Athens community by attending local events. These outreach efforts allow us to connect directly with families and individuals who may be interested in contributing to our research. By building these relationships, we ensure our work reflects and benefits the community we study. Events like this also help make research more accessible and approachable outside of a traditional lab setting.

During community recruitment, our research assistants engage children through hands-on activities that encourage active participation. These interactions help create a fun and welcoming environment while centering children as active participants in the research process. By prioritizing their involvement, we build trust and make the experience both engaging and meaningful for families.
Our research assistants have the opportunity to develop and lead their own independent research projects within the lab. With mentorship and support, students are able to explore their interests and contribute original findings to the field. Many RAs present their work at local and regional conferences, including events like CURO. These experiences provide valuable professional development and prepare students for future academic and research careers.
